CS2 maps
Every map in the CS2 Active Duty pool, with its layout, key callouts and how pro teams play it, plus the maps that left the pool.
Active Duty is Valve's list of seven maps used in Premier and in every pro tournament. Before each series, the two teams ban and pick maps from it in the veto, so knowing the pool and what each map rewards is the quickest way to read a match before it starts.
Each map page explains the routes into both bombsites, the callouts casters use, which side the map favors and what to watch in the first seconds of a round. Maps that were rotated out keep a short page with their history and why they went. See every change to the pool since CS2 launched.

The CS2 map pool at a glance
Pro matches and Premier are played on seven Active Duty maps. Valve swaps one map at a time, usually after a Major or at the start of a Premier season. The latest change came in July 2026, when Cache replaced Overpass.
| Map | Side lean in pro play | Known for |
|---|---|---|
| Ancient | slight CT | the fight for Mid |
| Anubis | T-sided | fast attacks, hard retakes |
| Cache | still settling | newest map, back since July 2026 |
| Dust2 | balanced | Long A and aim duels |
| Inferno | close to even | the Banana fight |
| Mirage | close to balanced | mid control, never rotated out |
| Nuke | CT-sided | stacked bombsites |
Why side lean matters
Teams switch sides at halftime, so on a CT-sided map a team prefers to start on T and finish on the easier CT side. The team that did not pick the map gets to choose. More in CT Side vs T Side.
How maps are chosen
Before each series, teams ban and pick maps in the map veto. Most teams have three or four comfort maps and one they always remove, so the veto often decides a match before it starts. Every change to the pool since CS2 launched is in the CS2 Map Pool guide.
