Train in CS2: Removed From the Map Pool

Train in CS2: Removed From the Map Pool

Train at a glance

Why it was removed

Train's latest stint lasted just one year. It is one of the most CT-sided maps in Counter-Strike: defenders can hold the long, narrow lanes between the train cars very well, which made the map unpopular with many teams. When Valve brought Anubis back with a set of fixes, Train made way.

What Train was known for

Train is set in a rail yard, with bombsites built around train cars. A site sits between parked trains and is famous for tight angles; B site is reached through Upper and Lower routes. Rounds on Train were often slow and tactical, and CT sides regularly ran away with halves.

Could it come back?

Train has already returned once, so it may again. If it does, this page will become a full guide. The current maps are listed in the CS2 Map Pool guide, and its replacement has its own page: Anubis.
