The R1GG rating ranks teams by their results against each other. Beating a strong team moves you up more than beating a weak one. Updated after every completed match.

How the rating works

The R1GG rating looks only at results. Before each series, the two teams' ratings give an expected outcome. After the series, both ratings move: a favorite that wins gains a little, an underdog that wins gains a lot. Only matches at Tier S, A and B events count, and bigger events and longer formats count a little more. The rating updates after every completed match, so it reacts quickly to a team's form.

How it differs from other rankings

  • Riot's Global Power Rankings (GPR) rank VCT teams with their own Elo-style model, which also weighs the strength of each region.
  • Stat sites keep their own community rankings, often covering more teams.
  • None of them decides VCT qualification. In Valorant, who plays at Masters and Champions is decided by results at Kickoff, Cups and Masters.

Using the rating

Each team's rating also appears on its team page and on every match page, next to form and head-to-head. A big rating gap makes a team the favorite, but Valorant is full of upsets, especially in BO1 matches and early in a season, when many rosters are new.

FAQ

How is the R1GG rating calculated?

It is an Elo-style rating. Before each series the two ratings give an expected result; after it both teams gain or lose points. Beating a stronger team earns more. Only matches at Tier S, A and B events count.

Is this the official Valorant ranking?

No. Riot publishes its own Global Power Rankings, and VCT spots are decided by results at events, not by any ranking. The R1GG rating is our own and only looks at results.

How often is the ranking updated?

After every completed match.

Why is a team missing from the table?

A team appears once it has 5 rated series, at Tier S, A or B events, and has played in the last 90 days. New rosters appear once they have played enough.
