Peek

Peek

Common types of peek:

  • Wide peek: swing far out into the open, so an enemy aiming at the corner has to move their crosshair.
  • Jiggle peek: step out and straight back, to see what is there without committing to a fight.
  • Shoulder peek: show only a shoulder for a moment, to bait an AWPer into missing a shot.
  • Jump peek: jump across a gap to see an angle quickly.
  • Double peek: two players peek the same angle at once, so the enemy can kill at most one before the other shoots.

Peeker's advantage. Because of how online games send information, the player who moves out often sees the enemy a fraction of a second before being seen. That is why aggressive peeks work so well against players who stand still.

A peek combined with shooting at a common spot before seeing the enemy is a prefire.
