HLTV rating

How to read it
The rating is built so that about 1.00 is an average performance.
| Rating | What it means |
|---|---|
| 1.20 or more | star level, often the best player on the server |
| 1.10 to 1.19 | very good |
| 0.95 to 1.09 | around average |
| under 0.90 | a tough match or event |
Over one map a rating can be very high or very low. Over a whole event or year it says much more.
What it counts
The current version, Rating 3.0, was introduced in August 2025 and adjusted in October 2025. It combines several parts of a player's game:
- kills and multi-kills;
- damage per round (ADR);
- survival and KAST;
- round swing: how much a player's actions changed their team's chance of winning each round.
Rating 3.0 also uses eco adjustment: kills and damage against a team with much worse weapons count for less.
Rating vs team rankings
The HLTV rating is about players. HLTV's team ranking is a separate list. See CS2 Team Rankings Explained for how team rankings work.
