Map veto

A typical BO3 veto
| Step | Action |
|---|---|
| 1 | Team A bans a map |
| 2 | Team B bans a map |
| 3 | Team A picks map 1 |
| 4 | Team B picks map 2 |
| 5 | Team A bans a map |
| 6 | Team B bans a map |
| 7 | the last map left is the decider |
For each picked map, the other team usually chooses its starting side. The exact order can vary by tournament.
Why the veto matters
Teams ban their weakest maps and pick their best, so a series is often decided before the first round. A team with a deep map pool is hard to veto against.
