Coach

What a coach does:
- Preparation. Builds strategies, studies opponents' demos and plans the map veto.
- During matches. Helps with economy and tactical calls, and uses tactical timeouts to reset the team.
- Team management. Runs practice, looks after the players and often has a say in roster changes.
When can the coach talk? It depends on the tournament's rulebook. Coaches always speak during timeouts and between maps; how much they may say during live rounds has changed over the years and differs between organizers.
Coach vs IGL. The in-game leader makes calls inside the server, in real time. The coach works mostly before the match and between rounds.
In emergencies, a coach can even play as a stand-in if a player is missing.
