Veto (map veto)

- A ban removes a map so it cannot be played.
- A pick chooses a map to be played. The other team then chooses the starting side on it.
- The decider is the map left over at the end of a BO3 veto. It is played only if the series reaches 1-1.
A good veto takes away the opponent's best map and steers the series toward your own. That is why commentators sometimes say a match was "won in the veto".
