Clutch

Clutch

Clutches are described by the numbers: a 1v1 is one player against one, a 1v3 is one against three. The higher the second number, the rarer and more impressive the clutch. A 1v5 is extremely rare.

A clutch does not always mean killing everyone. The last player can also win by defusing the bomb, by running down the clock as a CT, or as a T by keeping the planted bomb alive until it explodes.

Clutches matter beyond the highlight reel. Winning a round the team should have lost often changes the economy for the next few rounds, and late in a map a single clutch can decide the result.

A player who kills all five opponents in one round has an ace. Learn the basics in CS2 Rules Explained.
